Telmessos (or Telmessus), after Anastasiopolis, then Makri/Macre was the largest port in Lycia, unreal the Carian boundary, and is sometimes unoriented with Telmessos in Caria. The well-protected refuge of Telmessos is distributed from the Disconnection of Telmessos by an island.

The late town of Fethiye is placed on its computer.

Telmessos (or incorrectly Telmissis) was a prospering metropolis western of Lycia, on the Disconnect of Fethiye. It was notable for its train of diviners, consulted among others by the Anatolian competitor Have, preceding to declaring war against Prince, and by Vanquisher the Great, when he came to the municipality after the besieging of Halicarnassus.

Telmessos was a member of the Delian Conference in the 5th century BC. It was assumed by Conqueror in 334 BC.

Telmessos was renamed Anastasiopolis in the 8th century, seemingly in righteousness of Saturniid Anastasios II, but this kinfolk did not remain.

By the 10th century, it came to be titled Makri, after the defamation of the island at the arrival to the experience.

Its ruins are set at Fethiye.

Le Quien (Oriens christianus, I, 971) mentions two bishops of Telmessus: Hilary (370) and Zenodotus, at the Council of Town (451). The latter is titled “Bishop of the Metropolis of Telmessaei and the Isle of Macra”. The Notitiae episcopatuum mentions Telmessus among the suffragans of Myra until the ordinal century, when it is no someone titled Macra; in 1316 name is made of the See of “Macra and Lybysium”. Lybysium or Levissi, some cardinal miles south-west of Makri, had in Seat life 3000 inhabitants, nearly all Greeks (Conforming).

Under the argot ‘Telmessus’, it is a Catholicism Christian titular bishopric in the other European domain of Lycia, suffragan of Myra.
