Mosques
Named after the color of its minaret , which overlayed with green surface bricks , this mosque is the symbol of the İznik. Hacı Mustafa was the architect of this magnificient single domed mosque of early Ottoman Period. The construction of the mosque was started in 1378 by Çandarlı Hayrettin Pasha after his death , his son Ali Pasha completed the mosque. |

| A minaret was erected on the rigt corner and its body was decorated in blue and green tiles in a lightning shaped technique. This is an important example of Seljuk minaret tradition reflectibg early Ottoman art. The rectangular shaped interior was covered with domes and vaults , and the final congregation area has columns and pedestals with a marble mihrab. It is 10,5 meters in diameter , whereas its vaults and banister embroidery illustrate a very good sample of marble work of the times. It is a unique example of architect but it has much more means for muslims. If any muslim come in to the mosque , he can feel presence and full beauties of the islam. Everbody can effect the atmosphere of the mosque. | |
