Ilker Başbuğ is the 26. Commander of the Turkish Armed Forces. He was born in 1943 in Afyonkarahisar. He graduated from Land War School in 1962 , and he graduated from Infantry School in 1963.

Ilker Başbuğ made lots of team commanders in Turkish Land Forces until 1971. When he finished Land War Academy in 1973 like staff , He made officer of the General Staff Headquarter and then he became teacher of the Land War Academy , he became intelligent plan officer of the Nato International Military Headquarters in Bruksel in Belgium. He made lots of upper level Military jobs.

Ilker Başbuğ finished England Land War Academy and Nato Defence College and he became Brigadier General in 1989. He made Chief of the Europe Ally Forces Upper Headquarter Logistic and He worked 1. Armoured – Platted Brigade Commandership. He became Major General in 1993. He worked in Gendarme Public Security Commander Helper and National Military Representing Committee in Belgium while he was Major General. He became Lieutenant General in 1997. He made 2. Army Corps Commandership and National Security Committee General Secretary Headhelper while he was lieutenant general. He became Full General in 2002. He made Turkish Land Forces Commandership Staff Chief , General Staff 2. Chief , 1.Army Commandership and Land Forces Commandership while he was Full General. He became General Staff in 30 August 2008.

Full Commander İlker Başbuğ has Turkish Armed Forces Superior Brave and Abnegation Medal , Turkish Armed Forces Superior Duty Medal , Pakhistan Special Privilege Medal and Turkish Armed Forces Honour Medal.

He married with Sevil Başbuğ and he has 2 children. He knows English very well.

Mosques

The Green Mosque (İznik)

Named after the color of its minaret , which overlayed with green surface bricks , this mosque is the symbol of the İznik. Hacı Mustafa was the architect of this magnificient single domed mosque of early Ottoman Period. The construction of the mosque was started in 1378 by Çandarlı Hayrettin Pasha after his death , his son Ali Pasha completed the mosque.

A minaret was erected on the rigt corner and its body was decorated in blue and green tiles in a lightning shaped technique. This is an important example of Seljuk minaret tradition reflectibg early Ottoman art. The rectangular shaped interior was covered with domes and vaults , and the final congregation area has columns and pedestals with a marble mihrab. It is 10,5 meters in diameter , whereas its vaults and banister embroidery illustrate a very good sample of marble work of the times. It is a unique example of architect but it has much more means for muslims. If any muslim come in to the mosque , he can feel presence and full beauties of the islam. Everbody can effect the atmosphere of the mosque.

• First Medal From Sibel Özkan

Turkey won the first medal from the Weightlifting by Sibel Özkan. Sibel Özkan took silver medal in 48 Kilos Women Weighlifting. She lifted 88 kilos and 111 kilos so he totally lifted 199 kilos and be second. Our other girl Nurcan Taylan who she didn’t come in the list. She was the recortmen of the 2004 olympiads but she made bad starting the Pekin. 11.08.2008

• Elvan Abeylegesse won 2 silver medals from Beijing

Elvan Abeylegesse won 2 silver medals from Beijing 10.000 meters and 5.000 meters finals. And she made Europe record in olympiads. She take 2250 republic golds from Turkish Republic. She born in Ethiopia but 10 years ago she came to Turkey. Enka sports club devoloped the elvan and be sponsor of Elvan. Elvan be first person of the take silver medal in athletics in oliympiads in Turkish Sports History. 27.08.2008

• The Nilufer Hatun Soup Kitchen and Iznik Museum

This building is one of the most presentable exsamples of 14th century Ottoman architecture. In 1388 Sultan Murat 1 built this charity house which served food to poor daily , for his beloved mother Nilufer Hatun’s memory.

In Ottoman architecture , the reverse T-plan was used for the fisrt time during the construction of this charity house. The entrance of the building is a gallery covered with a dome and arched vaults and carried by columns and pedestals. The entrance door welcomes visitors with an inscription on it. In the garden of this very peacefull museum , work of art from Greek , Roman , Byzantine and Ottoman periods are exhibited.

Sultan Osman Gazi

Osman Gazi who is the creater of the Ottoman Empire was born in 1258 in Söğüt. His father Ertuğrul Gazi and his mother Hayme Hatun. When he was 23 years old he became leader of the Kayı Nation in 1281. Osman Gazi was popular with riding a horse , using sword and his success in the wars. Osman Gazi mas married with his nation’s leaders Ömer Gentlemen’s girl Mal Hatun. Mal Hatun gave a child to Osman Gazi who is the next sultan of the Ottoman Empire and his name is Orhan Gazi. Osman Gazi often goes to dervish Edebali , and Osman Gazi respect to Edebali’s thinkings. One night Osman Gazi saw a dream. His teacher Edebali sleeping on the bed and then a moon rising from Edebali’s chest and then moon comes to Osman Gazi’s chest. After a plane tree started to growing and tree became big. After the dream he went to Seyh Edebali’s near. Osman Gazi told the dream and waited the Edebali’s answer.

Seyh be silence and then he said you will be sultan and your sons will be owner of the world and my girl will be your wife. After this dream Seyh gave his girl to Osman whose name is Bala Lady. Osmangazi was so brave because he made lots of war with Byzantine and he took lots of city from Byzantines. He created the Ottoman Empire and his empire became owner of the world for 600 years. Osman Gazi was dead in 1326 in Bursa.

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk , he was born in Koca Kasım Pasha district , Islahhane street (Apostolu Pavlu Street No:75 , Aya Dimitriya District , Selanik , Greece) who is museum and it has 3 flats and 3 rooms and pink painted house in 1881.His father Ali Rıza Gentlemen was born in 1839 Kocacık.His father worked in timber merchant and soldier.Ali Rıza Efendi married with Zubeyde Hanım in 1871.They had 6 children and their names are Fatma (1872-1875) , Ahmet (1874-1883) , Ömer (1875-1883) , Mustafa (Kemal Atatürk) (1881-1938) , Makbule (Boysan , Atadan) (1885-1956) and Naciye (1889-1901).Fatma died 4 years old , Ahmet died 9 years old , Ömer died 8 years old from diphtheria.Little sister Naciye died 12 years old from tuberclosis.Makbule hanım lived for 1956.Mustafa was very clever child.Everybody can selected him from other children.He didn’t join other children in order to play game.He thinked playing game is not for his.He thinked he must work.So after his father died when he was 5 years old , he and his mother and little sister Makbule went to His uncle’s farm.Mustafa saw some crows were eating the cropes.And he saw scarecrow but all crows were on.So he thinked if i worked in the field and scared the crows , they didn’t eat our crops.So he and his sister said this to uncle.Uncle thinked he was so clever , son he gave this mission to Mustafa and his sister.At the same time Mustafa was going to the school.Firstly he went to the Hafız Mehmet Gentlemen school , after he went to newest education system school Şemsi Gentlemen in Selanik.His mother wanted his finished the school.So Mustafa went to Selanik Mulkıye İdadi after finished primary scholl.When at the İdadi he made argument with his teacher.So his grandmother took him.Mustafa was just working during the whole year.When he saw his friend with Military uniform , he made decision , and he joined the exam of the military school.When he won the exam his mother wasn’t know his success.But his mother didn’t want to military but Mustafa insisted to mother , so he joined Selanik Military School.He was perfect student in the school.He loved so much Mathematic and when he was in the class , his teacher Mustafa said him ; ‘ You are Mustafa and i am Mustafa from now on You are Mustafa Kemal’ and from now on Mustafa became Mustafa Kemal.After Military school , he went to Manastır Military Academi.His french was little , so he went to French School secretly and he improved his french very quickly.He finished Manastır Military Academi He went to the İstanbul joinde the War Academy.He became lieutenant in 1903.He finished the War Academy and became captain in 11 January 1905 and he went to Şam in order to make pratic.
